There is a preconceived idea of the countryside as a peaceful, carefree place often held by those who do not live there and by some of those who do.

In some of my drawings seek to show the other side of "country living" away from the glossy images.

This drawing is about being trapped and the hopelessness of being a young, single mother in a remote place with no transport, money or prospects.

The little girl dresses up in her mother's clothes from a time when she was free.
